Professional ethics and responsibility
In LAW SPORT we carry out our activity in accordance with the relevant legislation and the regulations governing the provision of professional services.
A. Ethical standards
In general, without prejudice to other applicable standards, our professionals are guided by:
-
Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Union
-
Code of Conduct for Spanish Lawyers
-
Code of Conduct for Spanish Economists
B. Our own values
LAW SPORT has its own core values, reflected in its internal relationships and in dealings with clients.
1. - Professional ethics and cooperation
Not only must the professionals of LAW SPORT conduct themselves in strict compliance with the law, but they must also refrain from any action which, although legal, could be regarded as ethically or deontologically questionable.
Similarly, they undertake to share their knowledge and opinions with their colleagues (even if these go against the majority opinion, which may need review), avoiding individual dominance or internal competition.
When they consider that taking on a given professional assignment may involve a conflict of interest with others they or other members of the firm are responsible for, they will inform the director of this immediately. The same applies if the assignment may directly or indirectly affect their personal interests or those of their friends or family.
LAW SPORT guarantees professional confidentiality and respect for data protection legislation.
2. - The client at the heart of the company
The members of LAW SPORT are aware that clients need special and continuous attention.
In order to work for the full satisfaction of clients, our professionals know that they must earn their trust, understand their particular situation and opinion, and keep them fully informed so that they understand the actions to be taken, the estimated timescale and any circumstance which may be relevant or of interest.
They must also be kept informed of the status of their cases, with regular contact even when there is no progress or news.
The best professional action is considered to be appropriate preventive advice, enabling decision making and the materialisation of operations with the best guarantees.
It is also understood that clients’ needs or possible problems must be anticipated, informing them of changes in legislation which may affect them, and the content of especially significant rulings.
3. - Quality as a key element
Quality in the provision of services is the essential element for creating loyalty in existing clients and attracting new ones.
Quality has a formal and a material aspect.
In the formal aspect, our professionals undertake to value their personal image as an external expression of their skills and attitudes, and extending to the company they form a part of; and to treat everyone they meet with total respect and good manners.
In the material context, all the members of the firm must continually improve their training and update their knowledge, co-operate with their colleagues where desirable or necessary, keep their files updated, keep clients informed and have the skills to use the latest technologies.
The provision of professional services by LAW SPORT is subjected to a continual internal audit process in order to achieve excellence.
